Christmas Giveaway - A Few of my Favourite Things!

I have waited as long as I could to have a giveaway, but I am going away for a week, leaving Wednesday, so I thought this might keep everyone amused until I come back! The giveaway is open internationally and I have a few of my favourite things as prizes - no kittens unfortunately :P

The "first prize"is one of my favourite things in the world, and definitely my favourite palette of all time, the Urban Decay Glinda palette from the "Oz the Great and Powerful" collection.

This gorgeous palette comes in a metal tin with a full mirror, the tin is actually a "build your own palette" meaning the shadows pop out and can be swapped for other Urban Decay shadows.

Included in the set are:
6 x 1.5g eye shadows:

  • Tornado – purple shimmer.
  • Aura (2 shades in 1) – Iridescent white with blue sheen and iridescent white with pink sheen
  • Magic – Candy pink with gold shimmer.
  • Illusion – Pastel peach satin.
  • Oz (2 shades in 1) – Gold shimmer with gold glitter and silver shimmer with silver glitter.
  • South – Warm taupey mid-grey with silver glitter.
24/7 Glide On Pencil (0.8g travel size) in Rockstar - deep purple

Super Saturated High Gloss Lip Colour in Glinda (Full size 2.8g) – A sheer, glossy pinky nude, apparently very similar to the regular shade "Naked".

Below are swatches from my own Glinda palette which is looking a bit ravaged now! I use it all the time to create light, iridescent daytime looks with a little extra oomph - the taupey-grey South and deep purple Tornado are great colours for adding extra depth. The two iridescent shades look quite sheer but they shine up beautifully, I hate sheer shadows but I love these. All the other colours are mega-pigmented as you'd expect from Urban Decay. I haven't swatched the eyeliner or lip crayon because they are currently packed away for my holiday, the palette is too but I had these swatches lying around...

This is the palette the winner will receive - brand new :) The card is a "get the look" tutorial and it was a godsend when I first got the palette and was wondering where to start!

Second prize is a collection of skincare from Elixia, an Australian skincare company with an emphasis on natural ingredients and modern science. Included is a 50ml tinted moisturiser, 30ml Anti-oxidant serum, and 15ml anti-oxidant eye serum, as well as their famous BioElixia Cellulite Contour Creme (150ml), a body sculpting cream that promises to diminish the appearance of cellulite. Their patented TPM Delivery Technology is scientifically proven to increase the absorption of active ingredients into the skin by up to 4 times.

The third prize consists of the hard-to-find Essence me & My Ice Cream shimmer pearls which I reviewed here, Bourjois Flower Perfection Translucent Smoothing Primer, i.d. Bare Minerals loose shadow in Sun, and some nail wraps from Rimmel and NCLA. Just a fun little mix of items to play with :)

Now for the fun part, the giveaway!!

All prizes were bought with my own money so there is nothing to disclose and nobody to thank (except possibly my fiance and his poor hardworking credit card!).

The giveaway is open worldwide, entry is through the Rafflecopter form below, and the giveaway will end on November 25th.

Good luck everyone!! :)

PRESENTS!!! No not really....My most favorite thing is having all my girls here with their partners and just watching the fun they are having. They all get on so well and its just really heart warming being a parent and being able to look on them all with pride...that warms my heart and has to be my favorite thing...but cool gifts sure do add to the excitement :)

    1. It must be a wonderful feeling when the kids are really grown up and making their own way in the world, my oldest boys are inbetweeny right now, 18 and 20, and I can't imagine them bringing their girlfriends or wives to Christmas in a few years' time - hopefully a good few years yet!

And I love spending some time off from a hectic work schedule with loved ones. And I adore nurturing a food baby ;)

My fave thing about Christmas is getting to spend the day with the whole family cause everyone has the day off. It's the one day where everyone is purely happy and love is everywhere. I love seeing the kids faces when they come round the corner into the lounge room and they spot the pressies. Its really a magical day for kids.
    Great giveaway beautiful! ××

I am looking forward to the holidays as it means the end of marking ....a time for some rest and relaxation (and time with family of course!)

    1. The end of marking? Guessing that makes you a teacher or lecturer, you must be hanging out for the holidays by now!! You must have the patience of a saint, I could never be a teacher - of kids OR adults! I hope you get some well-deserved rest this Christmas :)

  6. I'm living in the Land Downunder (Oz)
Although I've been known to become a wee bit stressed when I leave things to the last minute, I do so love the whole Christmas experience - choosing and wrapping gifts for my family and friends brings me almost as much pleasure as giving the gift on the day. It's also the time of year when I take a break from work and catch up with all those things I've been meaning to do for months (without having to get up at 4:30am!), like re-potting plants, reviewing products I've tried, and spending some quality time with my loved ones.
    Fantabulous giveaway Cat! xxx

    1. Oh, Christmas is definitely stressful! There's always an imbalance in the number of presents for the kids at the last minute (yep they compare - they go over the perceived value of each gift like tax accountants, lol!), someone I've forgotten, and a last minute shortage of wrapping paper! I do love it though :) I am not good with plants, however I do have an impressive crop of beautiful golden orb weaver spiders this year, dozens of them - their webs cover the entire side hedge and they eat all the bugs!

    1. My favourite volunteer work will always be my foster kittens, but I am trying to do more - I remember one year being in a Salvation Army shelter with my children, and Santa came and brought beautiful gifts for my boys. It was a great day made possible by caring strangers, and I will never forget it. My life is a million times better and now I am one of the lucky ones who can give back :)

  12. The best thing about Christmas for me is the school holidays, I love having my teenaged daughters at home with me for eight weeks, we get up to all kinds of mischief together. It seems like only yesterday that they were toddlers.i know I only have a few years left of them being at school and it kills me.

    1. The years go so fast when they're teenagers, it suddenly seems all too soon that they will be off on their own. Mine still haven't left though and they are 18 and 20! It must be a lovely time for you and your girls, you can really start being their friend as well as "just mum" :)

  30. Fellow Aussie. :-)
The thing I like best about Christmas is that I can give people gifts that mean something. I often see things that I know other people would love but it's a bit awkward giving a random gift. Christmas is my time to spoil them.
I also like that it's the one time of year that my sister is guaranteed to come down from Roxby and the family gets to spend some time together. Would be nice if my brother could come over from the UK but I understand that's not a cheap option!

The spirit of Christmas is just special everyone is cheery and I get to spend lovely time with my family. Also love our oz Christmas as the weather is perfect for picnics and swimming on the lake after a big meal. Also when I see the beautiful lights every night displayed at people's houses I feel like a kid again. We make a point to go and the light displays and when I see the twinkling lights I ahh and ooh and I jump with delight acting like my five year old son and it doesn't matter as it's the spirit of Xmas. I love the urban decay palette u have for giveaway such a generous prize Thanks for your kindness would love to win that as I don't own any high end eyeshadows.
